Our story

An allied-health college, built around one profession first

Claverton College opens in 2027 at Knowledge Park III, Greater Noida, in the Delhi National Capital Region. Its first programme is BASLP: the degree that makes audiologists and speech-language pathologists.

India has about ten thousand registered audiologists and speech-language pathologists for 1.4 billion people. Around seventy institutions teach the degree, and roughly two thousand students graduate each year. A proportion of graduates emigrate, and those who stay rarely reach the smaller towns where the need is greatest. Government support for people with disabilities keeps growing, and so does the demand for these professionals.

Hearing tests, therapy sessions and family counselling are delivered in person, one clinician to one patient. U.S. News & World Report ranks speech-language pathology among the best healthcare jobs in America.

Claverton was set up to train those people properly: in small batches, with patient contact from the first year, on the Rehabilitation Council of India’s national curriculum. The degree is awarded by Dr. Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University, Lucknow, a state university built around rehabilitation sciences. The college is run by the Aashirwad Foundation of India Trust. The intake is kept small to maintain a low student-to-teacher ratio.

Vision & mission

What the college is working toward

Vision

To train clinically competent practitioners in rehabilitation and allied health sciences and to add to the national workforce for hearing and communication care.

Mission

To prepare practitioners who are clinically and technologically competent, and ready to help shape the growth and future of speech and hearing healthcare in India.

Values

Four operating standards

Clinical first

Clinical reasoning is built from the first year and assessed throughout.

Integrity

The college publishes only information it can verify.

Mentorship

Small cohorts, with clinical work supervised by faculty throughout.

Standards

Defined standards in academics, clinical practice and professional conduct, applied consistently.

Academic approach

This cannot be learned from a textbook

Students gain experience in patient assessment, diagnosis, rehabilitation planning, assistive technology, hearing healthcare and speech-language intervention, so that the transition from student to practitioner happens during the degree, not after it.

One field, taught completely

Most colleges that teach BASLP also teach ten other things. BASLP is Claverton’s first and only programme, so every lab, clinic, teacher and timetable exists for it.

Clinical exposure from the first year

Supervised clinics start in the second semester and run every semester after, in sound-treated rooms and therapy spaces built to the RCI specification.

Small cohorts, named supervision

A small intake. Each student is assigned a named clinical supervisor.

RCI-recognised, degree from a rehabilitation university

Recognised by the Rehabilitation Council of India and affiliated to Dr. Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University, Lucknow. The route that leads to a graduate’s RCI registration and the legal right to practise.
